Sens

Located in the south-east of Paris, Sens, on the edge of Burgundy, is at the crossroads of three regions: Ile-de-France, Champagne-Ardennes and Centre.

With its 28 000 inhabitants and in the heart of 8 interconnected communities (41 500 inhabitants), Sens has showed one of the fastest  demographical expansion in Burgundy over the past few years, with a significant part of young couples.

This is a dynamic and diversified employment area (small and medium companies in various sectors such as the food processing industry, plastics engineering, etc.).

Sens is crossed by two rivers: the Vanne and the Yonne, which is now mainly devoted to leisure activities. The town is also famous for its prestigious past. Some remaining treasures can testify from that history: the Saint-Etienne Cathedral, one of the first gothic buildings and the old palace of archbishops, which houses the Museums of Sens. During medieval times, Sens was the center of a huge ecclesiastical province, which will last until the 17th century.

In the heart of the town, which has been certified 4 Flowers at the "Grand Prix National du Concours des Villes et Villages Fleuris", a green belt allows the walkers to discover the town from another perspective: relaxation around the Orangerie gardens, the square Jean-Cousin and the Parc du Moulin à Tan, discovery of rare plants in the greenhouses and the rose garden.

Cultural and leisure events also animate the town: fair of Sens, book and comics fairs, festivals (Musicasens, organ international festival, sports day, Christmas market, etc.)
